Bolt Action: US Army Infantry (Winter) Platoon

The Bolt Action US Army Infantry (Winter) Platoon is a Warlord Games box of 30 plastic GIs in winter uniform, made for the Battle of the Bulge.

As the US Army pushed through France toward Germany it met fierce resistance and increasingly harsh weather. The winter of 1944 to 1945 was a cold one in North West Europe, and the GIs fighting in the Ardennes forests found the weather almost as much of a foe as the enemy. Digging into frozen ground was hard work, and every piece of winter clothing counted.

Each sprue carries six dynamically posed bodies in thick winter greatcoats, twelve head options including helmets with camouflage covers and netting, and a wide range of weapons: the M1 Garand, Thompson and Grease Gun submachine guns, the Bazooka and the Springfield sniper rifle. Binoculars, water bottles, ammunition pouches and rifle grenades add detail. US uniforms need only a few colors, so the platoon is quick to paint.
