Modiphius: VAESEN, Nordic Horror Roleplaying Core Book

Vaesen, Nordic Horror Roleplaying is the core book for a Gothic horror roleplaying game set in the Mythic North, a nineteenth century northern Europe where the old myths are real.

In the countryside the old ways still hold sway, and people know to fear what lurks in the dark. Your characters are among the few who can see the vaesen for what they really are. Written by Nils Hintze and based on the work of Swedish illustrator and author Johan Egerkrans, Vaesen draws on Nordic folklore and the old myths of Scandinavia.

The rules use an adapted version of the Year Zero Engine, with quick and flavorful mechanics for combat, investigation and horror. Campaign play centers on the characters' mansion, which the group develops over time, and the book includes an introductory Mystery to start your first game.
