Bolt Action: Fallschirmjäger (Plastic Box)
$59.00
Bolt Action Fallschirmjager is a Warlord Games plastic box of 30 German paratroopers, the first airborne troops to be used in large numbers.
The Fallschirmjager were at the tip of the spear when war broke out in 1939, leading daring assaults on strategic targets such as the fortress at Eben Emael so the panzers could overrun Europe. Their greatest achievement as paratroopers was the seizure of Crete in 1941 against more numerous British and Commonwealth forces, a victory so costly that they were never again dropped en masse.
Small units still went in by glider and parachute, famously rescuing Mussolini and raiding behind American lines in the Ardennes, and their finest hour came holding the monastery at Monte Cassino for months against overwhelming odds, which earned them the name Green Devils. Warlord designed these miniatures for battles in North West Europe, and they serve on the Russian Front too. The kit comes as five sprues of six figures with a separate sprue of bases and extra parts.
