Warpaints Fanatic Effects: Dry Blood from The Army Painter is a semi-glossy coagulated blood effect for painters adding gore to their miniatures.
Dry Blood is part of Warpaints Fanatic Effects, The Army Painter's range of specialist effect paints for theme and narrative. The range runs from high gloss to ultra-matt and from textured to radiating, and it covers gore, rust and glow effects as well as weathering and basing. This one carries small particles, so it builds a gory, clotted texture instead of a smooth coat, and its semi-gloss finish reads as blood that has started to dry.
Like the rest of Warpaints Fanatic, it is an acrylic paint with a dense pigment load in a resin base with stabilizers for smooth application. The paint tends to separate in the bottle: shake it for about 30 seconds, squeeze out a little to check it, and shake a few seconds more if it still separates.
