Kolinsky sable is what professional painters use, and the reason is spring. Each hair tapers naturally to a point and returns to it after every stroke, so the brush keeps its shape through a session instead of splaying out the way synthetics eventually do. That gives you the needle like point this one is built around, and with it the maximum accuracy the range offers. At size 2/0 it is a detail brush that still carries a useful reservoir of paint, which is the combination most painters want for faces, eyes, freehand and fine edge work. The black triangular handle is deliberate too: three flats give you a fixed, repeatable grip and total control over the angle of the tip.
