Texture tells a story, and on a miniature the story is usually damage. A sword that has been used has bare metal along its edge; a breastplate that has been hit has flecks of primer showing through the paint. The difficulty is making those marks look random, because anything a normal brush puts down is too regular to read as wear. A chipping brush has a ragged, splayed tip that breaks paint into irregular flecks when you stipple with it, which is what does the work. The two Precision brushes handle small metal scratches on individual pieces of kit, and the two Battleline brushes cover a wider area in one pass, so between them the set works for a single character or a whole squad.
