Army Painter: Hobby Brush - Highlighting
An all round hobby brush with a tip sharp enough to place detailed highlights.
Highlighting is the step where a model stops looking flat, and it asks two things of a brush at once: enough belly to carry paint across a raised edge in one stroke, and a fine enough tip to stop exactly where the edge does. This one is built for that balance, which is also what makes it a good general purpose brush rather than a single technique tool. The sharp tip earns its keep in the hard to get areas of a miniature, in behind a shoulder pad or down between armor plates. The bristles are high quality taklon, chosen because it mimics the properties of sable and so gives the best possible absorption, holding a usable load of thinned paint instead of dumping it on the first contact.
