AK Interactive Styrene Rod 0.50mm diameter x 350mm is a pack of ten solid round polystyrene rods for fine detailing, scratch building and conversion work.
Each rod is 0.50mm in diameter and 350mm long (0.020 x 13.78 in), and solid all the way through, so it holds its shape when cut short and keeps a clean round face at the ends. At this fine gauge the rod suits aerials, wiring, cables and grab handles, and thin slices make convincing rivet or bolt heads.
Polystyrene cuts cleanly with a hobby knife or razor saw, and the cut ends can be filed or sanded to fit. Join rods to other styrene or plastic kit parts with plastic cement, which softens both surfaces and welds them into one piece. Prime before painting and the rods take paint like any plastic kit part.
