AK Interactive's 1/35 Sherman T54E2 Cuff Design tracks are a white metal track set for M4 Sherman kits.
The T54E2 was a steel chevron track designed by the Chrysler Corporation and common on many exported and Lend Lease Shermans such as the M4A4. Its visible difference from the earlier T54E1 is the shape of the chevron tread, the grouser. Getting that pattern right is one of the quickest ways to make a Sherman model read as a particular vehicle in a particular theater.
White metal links sag over the road wheels under their own weight, the way real track does, which plastic band tracks cannot copy. Metal also takes paint, pigments and graphite rubs well, so the wear on the grousers can be polished up to bare steel. AK lists the set as suitable for US Sherman M4A1, M4A2, M4A3 and M4A4, British Sherman I to V, and the Firefly VC.
