AK Interactive Dark & Dry Crackle Effects is a 100ml acrylic texture for modelers creating dark, crackled soil on vehicles, dioramas and vignettes.
Formulated for dark, cracked ground on the lower surfaces of vehicles and on diorama and vignette bases, this product was developed to give crackle effects that look right at scale. Think of a dried out riverbed, a parched track or baked mud caked on a lower hull.
On an acrylic base, apply a thin layer and let it dry; the surface cracks as it cures. You can change the thickness of the layer to vary the effect, and speed up drying with a hairdryer. Try a small test area first to find the layer thickness that gives the crack pattern you want, then extend it across the base. The product is non toxic.
