AK Interactive: Cork Sheets - Fine Grained - 200 X 300 X 3mm (2 Sheets)
$9.99
AK Interactive Cork Sheets Fine Grained 200 x 300 x 3mm is a pack of two thick natural cork sheets for modelers building bases, dioramas and terrain.
Cork is the bark of the cork oak, a tree found mainly in the western Mediterranean. This pack holds 2 sheets of fine grained cork, each 200 x 300mm and 3mm thick. The fine grain gives a tighter, smoother surface than coarse cork, which keeps the texture in proportion on smaller subjects.
At 3mm the sheet builds height quickly for raised terrain, rocky outcrops and elevated sections of a base. Cut it with a hobby knife, or break and tear it by hand so the edges look like fractured stone, and stack pieces to form cliffs and ledges. Glue it down with PVA white glue, then prime and paint it along with the rest of the scene.
