AK Interactive: Cork Sheets - Fine Grained - 200 X 300 X 2mm (2 Sheets)
$8.99
AK Interactive Cork Sheets Fine Grained 200 x 300 x 2mm is a pack of two natural cork sheets for modelers building bases, dioramas and terrain.
Cork is the bark of the cork oak, a tree found mainly in the western Mediterranean. This pack holds 2 sheets of fine grained cork, each 200 x 300mm and 2mm thick. The fine grain gives a tighter, smoother surface than coarse cork, which keeps the texture in proportion on smaller subjects.
At 2mm the sheet gives useful height for raised ground, steps and slabs. Cut it with a hobby knife, or break and tear the edges by hand, and stack pieces offset from each other to build layered rock faces and cliffs. Glue it down with PVA white glue, then prime and paint it along with the rest of the scene.
