AK Interactive: 3G US Olive Base Uniform
$4.99
US Olive Base Uniform, the first coat for American olive uniforms on historical figures, from AK Interactive's Figures range.
American uniforms are some of the most painted subjects in historical figure work, and the olive tones they were made in are easy to get almost right and hard to get exactly right. Too green and a GI looks like a toy soldier; too brown and he looks like he belongs to another army. The reliable approach is to start every uniform from the same matched base, then shade down into the folds and highlight the edges, so a whole squad reads as one unit while the shading gives each figure its own life.
The Figures label marks AK's compilation of very specific colors for painting historical figures, including WWI, WWII and modern uniforms. The 3rd Generation formula is non toxic, very highly pigmented, and made to airbrush cleanly when thinned rather than clogging, while covering smoothly under a brush. The cap shows the color.
