AK Interactive: 3G Air - WWII US Navy & USMC Aircraft Colors SET
$26.99
AK Interactive WWII US Navy & USMC Aircraft Colors is a six-bottle 3rd Generation acrylic set covering the finishes of American naval aircraft through World War II.
The colors follow the wartime changes in order. Carrier aircraft went Light Grey overall at the end of 1940, then took Blue-Grey upper surfaces over Light Grey from 1941, a scheme made standard for carrier and shore-based aircraft in February 1942. January 1943 brought the tri-color scheme of Sea Blue, Intermediate Blue and Insignia White.
Fighters switched to Deep Sea Blue overall in March 1944, the order was extended to all carrier aircraft later that year, and the finish stayed in use until the mid-1950s.
