AK Interactive: 1/35 Automotore FS 206/207/208 Sogliola Rail Shunter
$55.99
The AK Interactive Automotore FS 206/207/208 Sogliola Rail Shunter is a 1/35 plastic model kit of the Italian license-built version of the Breuer IV light shunting locomotive.
Nearly 400 of these shunters were built in Italy by Antonio Badoni Lecco and Officine Costamasnaga di Como, serving the Italian State Railways and private companies until at least the 1990s. In July 1942 a few dozen became the main pulling force on the restored line from Tobruk to El-Alamein, carrying troops and supplies until November 1942. Nicknamed "sogliola" (sole) for their shape, in North Africa they were called "sardine cans" or "moving wardrobes".
Build it as the World War II variant used in North Africa or as a post-war model with several distinctive modifications. A 19 cm long track section and an Italian Engineer Corps NCO figure are included.
