Standard Rust Acrylic Wash from AK Interactive is an 18ml brush wash that gives leather and wood a natural look and simulates rust over metal.
Its reddish shadows suggest tanned or treated leather, and it brings out grain, folds and texture on shields, weapons, crates and scenery bases. Over metal it works as a rust effect when you want a weathered finish rather than clean steel.
Like the rest of the AK acrylic wash range, it is odorless and dries slowly to a matte finish. The pigment flows into recesses and crevices to create shadows over any base color, and the slow drying gives you time to guide it with the brush and correct any excess that gravity pools. Let it dry, then paint your highlights with confidence. You can combine AK washes freely to reach the contrast you want.
