The Tri-Stick has three distinct sections, at 400, 1000 and 3000 grit, so a complete finishing process happens on one piece. Start on the 400 section to shape and smooth, move to 1000 to refine, then finish on 3000 to buff the surface to a polish, all without reaching for another tool.
