AK Interactive: 3G IDF Modern Grey
$4.99
IDF Modern Grey, for modern Israel Defense Forces vehicles, from AK Interactive's AFV range.
IDF is the Israel Defense Forces, and this is AK's gray for its modern vehicles, for the armor and equipment your reference shows painted in it. The colors of Israeli armor have changed over the decades and vary with light and dust, so a bottle chosen for the modern period gives a consistent base across a whole model or a whole force. From there, the dust, fading and chipping you add read as wear on the correct paint rather than as a correction of the wrong one.
The AFV label marks the colors AK has chosen for painting military vehicles of every era, the specific tones used by different armies in different periods and matched to references such as RAL and FS. The 3rd Generation formula is non toxic, very highly pigmented, and made to airbrush cleanly when thinned rather than clogging, while covering well under a brush. The cap shows the color so the bottle is quick to find.
