AK Interactive: 3G Base Green (Protective)
$4.99
Base Green (Protective), the protective green of Russian and Soviet armor, from AK Interactive's AFV range.
Protective green is the color most people picture when they think of Soviet and Russian vehicles, and it covers an enormous range of subjects, from wartime tanks to Cold War armor. Because so many of those vehicles are finished in essentially one color, the base tone carries the whole model. Get it right and the fading, chipping and dust you layer on top read as wear on the real thing; get it wrong and no amount of weathering rescues it. As a base color, this is the tone to lay down first and then work up and down from.
The AFV label marks the colors AK has chosen for painting military vehicles of every era, the specific tones used by different armies in different periods. The 3rd Generation formula is non toxic, very highly pigmented, and airbrushes cleanly when thinned rather than clogging, while covering well by brush. The cap shows the color.
