AK Interactive 3G Acrylic Retarder is an auxiliary medium from AK's third generation acrylic range, for painters who want more working time from their acrylic paints.
The 3G auxiliary line, identified by labels with a gray circle, is a group of specially formulated mediums that modify the properties of paints. A retarder does that by slowing how quickly acrylic paint dries.
Acrylics dry fast, which helps when you are building up layers but makes blending and wet mixing harder. Mixing a small amount of retarder into the paint keeps it workable for longer, so you have more time to blend one color into the next on the model, or to adjust a mix on the palette, before it sets.
