Brass, a warm metallic brass from the Metallic range of AK Interactive's 3rd Generation acrylics.
Brass is paler and more yellow than gold, and it is everywhere once you start looking: shell casings and cartridge belts, buttons and buckles, nautical fittings and instruments, lamps, musical instruments and steampunk machinery. Getting it distinct from the gold on the same figure is what makes the detail read. Shade it with a brown wash in the recesses and pick out the high points with a lighter metallic.
AK's Metallic range is marked by a dark blue circle on the label. The colors are made with ultrafine metallic pigment for an intense but soft finish, which keeps the surface smooth rather than grainy, and the 3rd Generation formula is made for brush or airbrush work.
